Mission and Values

The Mount Calvary Legacy 125 Endowment Fund’s (a.k.a Legacy 125 or The Fund) Fund purpose is to provide funds for charitable, and religious programs of the local community, and across the globe. It also helps the church meet new challenges and opportunities. The Fund is operated under the auspices of a selected 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to help support Christian ministries. Legacy 125 works throughout Boulder County and the United States.  As we expand, we hope to work internationally as well.  Our Directors serve on a voluntary basis. 
The Mount Calvary Legacy 125 Fund's purpose is to:
Receive gifts, to invest and grow the gifts, and to provide financial support for charitable awards, gifts, and donations. The Fund was established by the congregation in 2019. We operate with an open and transparent funding and gifting process where funds go directly to the causes or needs, with the Legacy 125 Board of Directors overseeing that the money is used as intended. We are committed to maximizing the beneficial impact of our gifting through strategic partnering, use of matching gifts for funding and volunteer hours, and creative leveraging of projects and initiatives.
Making a Difference:
Legacy 125 will solicit and evaluate applications for funding from all sources and will award financial gifts and donations as funds are available based on need, impact, and consistency with our organization’s goals, values, and beliefs. For example, gifts will include 
• Community Food Programs
• Housing projects for families, communities, and individuals in need
• Outreach and support to communities in need
• Church Youth Camps
• Lutheran Social Services
• Lutheran Disaster Response
Our Values:
These are the values that guide and direct us. By and through God’s grace, we commit ourselves to express them through everything we do. Legacy 125 is a Receptive, Responsive, and Reconciling in Christ charitable organization. We wish to serve and care for all people, whatever their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental capability, education or religious background, economic, marital or social status. We believe all individuals share the worth that comes from being uniquely created by God.
Relationships
We believe that every person who donates to or receives gifts from our Fund is a part of our Legacy 125 family. Our family reflects and shares in the wider family of believers and in the Body of Christ. Each is valued as a true child of the King!
Inclusivity
We believe that every child is uniquely gifted by God. We provide assistance and gifts that nurture a broad range of ministries that God leads to our door.
Servanthood
We serve God by serving others. We serve our community and world through offering gifts and assistance as well as leveraging the value of our gifts through matching funds and other programs that encourage volunteerism. We also recognize and deeply value the service of others who share their gifts with our Fund.
Integrity
The dictionary describes integrity as an adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. We believe integrity also applies to our expectations of working hard and responsibility.
Excellence
Giving our best! We strive to be a responsive charitable Fund that values high-quality governance, transparency in operation, and meets the needs of our world. We understand that as we seek a path of continued improvement in ourselves.
Our Core Beliefs:
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing: it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. • Ephesians 2: 8-10 (ESV)
By Grace Alone – We believe God became man in Jesus the Christ. He lived perfectly as a 'self-less servant,' taking our imperfect thoughts, words and actions to an innocent death on the cross in a demonstration of costly love.
Through Faith Alone – We believe that faith is God’s gift that trusts Jesus as Savior from sin and Lord of life. Faith believes that, in Christ, we have 'every spiritual blessing' through the 'forgiveness of sins.'
For Works of Service – Because we are saved by Grace, through Faith, God has also created us for a life of service. Through daily reading and reflecting on His Word, we are led to do the ordinary things of life in extra-ordinary ways.
